My Girl

I have a girl I take my friends to meet
I have a girl who just can’t be beat
We never argue and never fight
I always know she’ll be alright
But she always wants to make new friends
She tells me to bring them and my heart bends
She loses them so fast
Friends just don’t last
She welcomes them inside
But they always try to hide
They cannot escape her stinging embrace
Away, away they try to race
They don’t get far
And I drive them back in my car
With broken legs, or tied in rope
Of getting away they have no hope
I bring them to my girl’s home
And put their name in her growing tome
Then she closes her door
And out pours the gore
The iron gal of my mind’s contempt
The maiden of my heart’s content
