I kneel and say my prayers in filthy places.
I touch my tounge upon distempered walls.
Let’s pass that whiskey ’round,
with sucking human sounds.
We swing low then we rise up to the top.
Well I want to win these acts of shame,
A down and dirty shame.
But before the fires that rage, O Lord,
indecency is lost in these acts of shame.
I’m much afraid of all the laws of Nature,
’cause debasement is my quality of life.
O I ain’t heaven bound,
Going down to my last count.
I build it up and then I tear it out.
Well I want to win these acts of shame,
A down and dirty shame.
But before the fires that rage, O Lord,
indecency is lost in these acts of shame.
I kneel and say my prayers in filthy places.
I touch my tounge upon distempered walls.
We’ll pass that whiskey ’round,
with sucking human sounds.
We swing low then we rise up to the top.
And I want to win these acts of shame,
A down and dirty shame.
But before the fires that rage, O Lord,
indecency is lost--
I want to win these acts of shame,
A down and dirty shame.
But before the fires that rage, O Lord,
indecency is lost in these acts of shame.
