I Dream ... Eyes

I dream eyes –

…caramel melting into brandy

reflecting bar lights and smoke.

…sun sparkling on the water

of a clear, deep mountain lake.

…deep and tender dripping down,

sinking into opaque filmy whispers.

These eyes I dream.

Whirling, whorling, spiraling, dancing to become the Sun -

Then sinking to earth to grow -

as daisy, buttercup, bachelor button, snapdragon, rose, mum  -

As Everyflower.

Yearning towards the sun, following its course across the sky,

they sigh as the sun sinks into the west -  eyes sparkling as they close -

waiting impatiently for sun to rise and them to open again.

These eyes I dream…
